We are in a world that runs on ab ever-increasing complexity of information.  There is a staggering amount of knowledge that is thrust onto young children every day. How can we make knowledge enthralling, engaging and enduring?  A time-tested way is to harness the power of storytelling.  Telling the right story, at the right time, in the right way, has the power to clarify, connect with and create curiosity in the listeners’ mind.  Stories and the wisdom they bring just make the world more inviting. Join in for a session on Storytelling in STEAM Education.  The workshop is an introduction into using storytelling techniques for communicating Science and Mathematical concepts for young children.

Aparna Athreya has been a talker all her life.  She talked her way through an engineering degree in Computer Science and worked in the software industry for over 16 years.  Always deeply curious, she stopped along the way to smell the proverbial rose and fell in love with storytelling.  Over the last decade she has been experimenting, playing with and deeply connecting to people over stories.  She works with professionals, parents and children in rediscovering the art and science of storytelling.  She is a TEDx speaker on Storytelling and Multiple Intelligence.

The Federation of Asian Storytellers Ltd is a non-profit company incorporated
in Singapore in June 2018.
