Our first session was something that proved to be interesting and insightful for me as a human being at this time in my life. Personal storytelling for me is an opportunity to share a part of my truth in a crafted way that may/ will give someone a different prospective. I know that this process is something that is absolutely freeing for me and is a crucial part of my healing journey.
My powerful memory was something that kept wanting a voice and yearned to be heard. Initially it made me uncomfortable and I would be in a place of absolute vulnerability, but I also felt strongly that this story would be a key for the audience to embrace their own healing journey with kindness.
I resonated with the meaning that the story carried, and was reminded by a quote that says, “Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning” Maya Angelou.
The other thing that I will take away is to listen in a deep, open and delightful manner. I also really enjoyed and appreciated the wholeness in everyone’s stories.
