A FEAST- WVSG Storytelling Collaboration

Six tales from two very different geographical regions, but societies that share a similar idea of communal living in the form of a longhouse.  Six very experienced tellers each with their own distinctive style of telling: three sharing stories from the native American peoples, and three sharing tales from what was formerly known as Borneo

HEARS CROW, PAPAJOE GAUDET and JONATHAN CUMMINGS share the stories from America; REGINA RESS, CASSANDRA WYE and ROGER JENKINS share the tales from the rainforest of Sabah and Sarawak.

This project marks the first WVSG - FEAST collaboration. Several FEAST members have been telling on the monthly swap organised by WVSG (Worldwide Virtual Storytelling Guild) on the first Friday of every month 8.30 -10am (Singapore time) and it was at such a meeting that Roger first saw Hears Crow and heard her speak of her 'tales form the longhouse'. Making a connection between the longhouses of east and west seemed a natural fit: coincidentally both Regina and Cassandra had offered to tell at the April swap, so the project has fallen into place serendipitously!

However given the time differences - American EST is 12 hours behind Singapore, London currently 7 hours - we have opted for the later  start time in Asia in the hope of attracting an American audience too.
